Multiple MobiKEY Deployments in Germany

HANNOVER, Germany and TORONTO, March 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Route1 Inc. (TSX-V:ROI), the trusted provider of security and identity management network solutions, today announced that three German-based companies are deploying X-KEY with TruOFFICE(TM), powered by MobiNET(TM). X-KEY is a European, white-labeled version of Route1's award-winning MobiKEY(TM); TruOFFICE is the first in a series of services powered by MobiNET(TM), Route1's communication and service delivery platform focused on identity management and entitlement-based access to resources.

These businesses, which are among the growing list of European organizations that have demonstrated interest in Route1's identity management service, include event facility Messe Dusseldorf, business services company Rentokil DE, and Taylor Wessing, a well known European full-service law firm. Germany-based X-MS AG, one of Route1's Regional Distributors and supplier of solutions to the European market, facilitated these customer wins through its channel sales partners.

"This is a significant milestone for Route1 in realizing our global strategy," said Andrew White, president and CEO of Route1. "We began our entry into the European market just a few months ago, and are already seeing remarkable traction from organizations that can benefit from our identity management platform and highly secure remote access service. With continued support from X-MS, we anticipate continued success in the European market."

X-KEY, with TruOFFICE, provides business users with trusted and secure remote access to their corporate desktop and network resources without the cost and complexity of deploying a Virtual Private Network (VPN) or other purpose-built remote access application. The TruOFFICE remote access service is powered by the Route1 MobiNET platform for identity and entitlement management and delivered via the X-KEY. To service the European market more effectively and provide a fluid user experience, Route1 has installed and deployed MobiNET infrastructure components in Germany. This ensures that the network requirements of European subscribers are met, while being supported by the power of MobiNET's global service infrastructure.

As a large event facility, Messe Dusseldorf is using X-KEY, with TruOFFICE, to enable employees to access their centralized resources from any PC on its expansive grounds. "Our operations are spread over such a huge area, making it difficult for employees to get to their computing resources," explains Christa Feld, Director of Information Technology. "TruOFFICE will allow our employees to connect to their corporate desktops safely, securely, and simply from any computer in the complex."

Rentokil DE is using X-KEY, with TruOFFICE, to gather information on rental equipment in the field. "Equipment tracking is a time consuming exercise for our employees because it involves a lot of traveling to and from sites," said Keith Maitland, Manager IT "TruOFFICE they can access the status of equipment securely from any location, whether they are at a customer's site, at home or anywhere else. This will improve efficiencies immensely."

X-KEY, with TruOFFICE, provides lawyers at Taylor Wessing with highly secure access to confidential information at the office from any location. "This will play an essential role in improving response to client needs when our lawyers are at a customer site or traveling on business. It can also be used to grant, limit and restrict remote access for external suppliers easily," said Frank Fiorenza, IT Manager. "X-KEY, with TruOFFICE, was the only solution that could offer the security we needed to ensure the extremely high levels of confidentiality required in our business."

Through a combination of hardware, software and a managed service, TruOFFICE allows users to safely and securely access their desktop applications and network resources from any Windows-based, Internet-enabled PC in the world - without information ever leaving the boundaries of the corporate firewall. Unlike VPNs, a user's connection is initiated from inside the corporate firewall and extended to the device from which the service is accessed (e.g. X-KEY/MobiKEY). This inside out approach eliminates the possibility of unauthorized access through corporate firewalls. In addition, since no applications or data reside on the remote device, organizations can also ensure compliance with privacy, security and governance regulations.
